There are two types of librettos in this area: Photocopied and Clean Typed. Photocopied materials are from the original material and is often tough to read. Should you be purchasing an original libretto so you can work on improving it yourself, it will need to be typed again and rough guesses made on some pages. These are out of copyright and in the Public Domain. So you are free to alter them as you wish. This is the first time the general public has access to original librettos for the theatrical works of Victor Herbert. They were created by various authors including Harry Bache Smith, Henry Blossom, Rida Johnson Young, Fred DeGresac and numerous others. Description
Public Domain – A photocopy of the prompt book for Sweethearts. The libretto is written in 1913 by Harry B. Smith while his brother Robert B. Smith wrote the lyrics. This operetta was composed for coloratura Christie MacDonald and is second in popularity only to Naughty Marietta.
Please note. Libretto ends on page 31 about 1/3 of way through the Finale, most likely because the entire rest in in the PV. You need to move to the Finale in the Piano Vocal Score to read the end of the musical comedy.
