Should you be purchasing an original libretto so you can work on improving it yourself, it will need to be typed again and rough guesses made on some pages. These are out of copyright and in the Public Domain. So you are free to alter them as you wish. This is the first time the general public has access to original librettos for the theatrical works of Victor Herbert. They were created by various authors including Harry Bache Smith, Henry Blossom, Rida Johnson Young, Fred DeGresac and numerous others. WORD document of Public Domain libretto by Henry Blossom for the 1915 Herbert operetta The Princess Pat. This operetta was considered very “modern” and very “American.” The production opened on September 28, 1915 and produced “Neopolitan Love Song” as a popular favorite. It also became infamous for the murder of the second female lead, Pearl Palmer (char. Grace Holbrook) two days before the opening night in New York.
