Should you be purchasing an original libretto so you can work on improving it yourself, it will need to be typed again and rough guesses made on some pages. These are out of copyright and in the Public Domain. So you are free to alter them as you wish. This is the first time the general public has access to original librettos for the theatrical works of Victor Herbert. They were created by various authors including Harry Bache Smith, Henry Blossom, Rida Johnson Young, Fred DeGresac and numerous others. Public Domain clean typed WORD complete original libretto for the original 1910 operetta, Naughty Marietta. This was typed from the original stage manager’s prompt book and has had only very minor language editing. All character, scenes and song orders are original. This script does include the Voodoo Queen who technically never made it to the Broadway stage. Yes, the Voodoo song IS available — contact Shop VHSource. The script has been done by San Jose Light Opera who definitely recommends removing the Voodoo Queen entirely. That is a very easy accomplishment. She was a part of the original prompt boo. While I hold the copyright, I will not be charging you royalties.
