Photocopy of Public Domain piano/vocal for Victor Herbert’s It Happened In Nordland which opened at the Lew Fields Theatre, New York City, on December 5, 1904. The operetta starred Lew Fields (Weber & Fields fame) as Hubert Peepfogel and Marie Cahill as Katherine Peepfogel. It is an excellent example of an operetta score written specifically for vaudevillian singers and therefore not as difficult as some Herbert scores. The libretto also relies heavily on vaudevillian materials for its relatively skimpy plot. The photocopy is made from a 106 year old document.
