Victor Herbert was an orchestration genius who for the most part did his own orchestration work on Full Scores, eventually parceling out work to trusted employees for creation of conducting scores and actual parts. The products contained here are original Victor Herbert orchestrations that were either done by him or approved by him. Most have been painstakingly restored into Finale from Herbert's hand written scores, and/or 100+ year old copyists' hand. In some cases there are published scores and parts. You can always trust the arrangers Otto Langey and Harold Sanford. Those are the only two names who worked for and/or were approved by Herbert to arrange his music. You will find their names most often on "Selections from ....." published scores and parts. Herbert was not particularly fond of overtures per se and often asked Langey to create a overture and label it "Selections from ..."If I Were On The Stage

Description
Public Domain – Finale Computer Scores/Parts created for “If I Were On The Stage” from the original Herbert scores for the operetta, Mlle Modiste, 1905. This is one of Herbert’s formula songs with three similar verses which set up three completely different choruses. It is a tour de force for a coloratura soprano with a big range. The last chorus is the famous “Kiss Me Again.” You’ll find the P/V under the P/V section of the Shop VHSource or look under Performance Packages if you need everything. This product was created by Bruce Herman.
The orchestration set is scored for 2-1-2-1, 2-2-1-0, strings, timp/perc
It includes two files:
1) score and parts – 8 1/2 by 112) two scores which are legal sized and tabloid size if you’d like larger scores.
It is perfectly fine to conduct from the piano/vocal as it matches Herbert’s original scores.
