Belle O’Brien

Description

A photocopy of a Victor Herbert 1895 popular song which became so requested that the composer was forced to arrange it for Gilmore’s Band aka The New York 22nd Regiment Band of which he was the conductor. “Belle O’Brien” was always at the top of the encore list. Surprisingly, it is a very sad lament,  sung by a rather “down in his cups” gentleman as he shares this mournful tale of love loss but never forgotten. It is definitely pub music.  “Belle O’Brien” has words by John Ernest Mc Cann and is in the key of C Major with a range from C to D. Most any male voice will find this song very accommodating.
