The 1915 Herbert operetta The Princess Pat opened in New York City on September 29 at the Cort Theatre. This production once again teamed Herbert with Henry Blossom and was considered modern and very American. The production introduced the "Neapolitan Love Song" as a popular favorite and ended with the delightful "Two Laughing Irish Eyes." One fascinating, if a bit disturbing, note involved a delay of the opening for 2 days when the second female lead was murdered by her boyfriend - one of the more unusual events surrounding a Broadway opening.
Adam Aceto and Patrick Johnson are at the two pianos. Music was restored and conducted by Adam Aceto. Album cover and program notes come in the zip file containing the MP3 files.
